TG-51 Overview
Use Calibration > TG-51 to record photon and electron absolute-dose calibrations for a linear accelerator.
A TG-51 data set keeps the equipment, environmental conditions, reference setup, and energy-specific calibration results together. Confirm the selected institution, linear accelerator, and TG-51 data set before reviewing or changing values.
TG-51 opens the Linac Overview after you select an institution and linear accelerator. Review saved results in Charts or Matrix, or use Browse data sets to open a data set’s Calibrations.
Use Beam history or select a plotted point or matrix result to inspect one beam. If multiple results share its latest measurement date, choose the saved result to inspect. The dialog shows the selected data set and its recorded initial and final outputs.
Recommended Workflow
Section titled “Recommended Workflow”- Select or create a TG-51 data set.
- Review Data Set Details, Equipment, Temp / Pressure, Calibration Conditions, and Reference Data Set.
- Save any setup changes before adding or editing calibrations.
- Add and review photon calibrations.
- Review the supported protocols and saved evidence, then add and review electron calibrations when applicable.
- Export the TG-51 report after confirming the saved values.
TG-51 Pages
Section titled “TG-51 Pages”| Page | Use It For |
|---|---|
| Linac Overview | Review saved beam trends and browse all TG-51 data sets for the selected linac. |
| Calibrations | Review the selected data set’s photon and electron results, including initial output, final output, and change. |
| Data Set Details | Name the TG-51 data set and record its test date. |
| Equipment | Select the ion chamber and electrometer whose calibration factors apply. |
| Temp / Pressure | Record the environmental measurements used to calculate Ctp. |
| Calibration Conditions | Set the photon field and SSD/SAD setup and, when needed, the electron applicator. |
| Protocols and Saved Evidence | Understand the supported photon and electron calculation paths, evidence roles, revisions, and historical locks. |
| Reference Data Set | Select scan data that Quadrant can use for percent depth dose (PDD) or tissue-maximum ratio (TMR) values. |
| Photon calibrations | Enter and review photon beam-quality, correction-factor, charge, and dose results. |
| Electron calibrations | Enter and review electron beam-quality, gradient, charge, and dose results. |
Shared Controls
Section titled “Shared Controls”The data-set pages use the same selected data set and toolbar. Use Back to linac overview to return to trends and the data-set list. The data-set toolbar can include:
- New Data Set
- Delete Data Set
- Export Report
- Connect or the connected electrometer name
- A change count, Discard, and Save
See Review and Save TG-51 Changes before changing equipment or reference conditions. Those changes can affect existing calibrations.
Read-Only Records
Section titled “Read-Only Records”Some accounts can review TG-51 data without changing it. Historical records can also be locked for audit purposes. When a record is locked, Quadrant preserves it as read-only.
