TG-51 Troubleshooting

Start by confirming the selected institution, linear accelerator, and TG-51 data set. Then check whether the page shows pending changes or a read-only state.

What you may see: The TG-51 section does not appear in the sidebar.

What it usually means: TG-51 is not available for your account.

What to do: Confirm you are using the expected account and reload the page.

When to get help: Ask your team to confirm your access when TG-51 should be available. Do not use another user’s session.

What you may see: Write controls are hidden or disabled, or a Read Only badge appears.

What it usually means: You can review TG-51 records but cannot modify them, or the selected record is historical and locked.

What to do: Confirm that you selected the intended record and check for a Historical record (read-only) banner.

When to get help: Contact your team when you need to correct a record but the expected write controls remain unavailable.

What you may see: Data-set creation fails or the equipment card does not show ND,w, Pelec, voltage, or a calibration date.

What it usually means: The selected device lacks required active calibration information.

What to do: Stop data-set creation or calibration entry and confirm that you selected the intended chamber or electrometer.

When to get help: Ask the equipment owner to review the device’s calibration record before proceeding.

What you may see: Quadrant asks you to save or discard changes before adding, editing, or retiring a calibration.

What it usually means: The selected data set contains pending setup changes that must be resolved before calibration results can change.

What to do: Review the change count. Click Save when the values are correct or Discard to restore the saved setup, then retry the calibration action.

When to get help: Ask your team to review the record when Save or Discard does not clear the pending changes.

What you may see: No matching PDD data is found for the selected energy or reference analysis fails.

What it usually means: The reference data set does not contain usable data for the energy, mode, field, or depth.

What to do: Confirm the reference selection and review its scans. Use Enter Custom Values only with values from a verified source.

When to get help: Ask your clinical or data team to review the reference when matching verified scans appear to be present but analysis still fails.

What you may see: Changes Affect Existing Calibrations lists affected energies and blocking problems. Save All Recalculations is disabled while any affected calibration remains blocked.

What it usually means: A pending setup change affects one or more saved calibration results.

What to do: Review every affected energy and complete the requested factors or measurement evidence. Click Cancel if you cannot resolve a problem or the result is unexpected. Follow Changes That Affect Calibrations; the shared save does not skip, delete, or retire affected calibrations.

When to get help: Ask a clinical reviewer when required evidence is unavailable or the effect of the setup change is uncertain.

What you may see: The report does not download, or the export dialog displays an error.

What it usually means: The data set is no longer selected, required saved equipment or calibration results are missing, or report generation failed.

What to do: Confirm the selected data set and its saved equipment and calibration results. Pending changes do not block export, but the report omits them. Save intended report changes or discard them, then try the export again.

When to get help: Record the displayed error and contact your team when the export still fails after the record is complete and saved.

What you may see: WebSerial not supported.

What it usually means: The current browser does not provide the serial-device access required by Quadrant.

What to do: Use a supported browser such as Chrome, Edge, or Opera, or enter readings manually.

When to get help: Contact your local browser or device support team when a supported browser still reports that Web Serial is unavailable.

The Port Chooser Closes Without Connecting

Section titled “The Port Chooser Closes Without Connecting”

What you may see: The browser port chooser closes and the TG-51 toolbar still shows no connected device.

What it usually means: The chooser was canceled, a different port was selected, or permission was not granted.

What to do: Reopen Connect Electrometer, select the correct device type, and approve the port connected to the electrometer.

When to get help: Contact local device support when the intended port does not appear or browser policy prevents approval.

What you may see: The serial electrometer remains disconnected or Quadrant displays a connection error.

What it usually means: The device is off, the cable or adapter is disconnected, the wrong port was approved, or another application is using the port.

What to do: Confirm the device power and cable, close other applications that may use the port, reconnect the device, and reopen the browser port chooser.

When to get help: Contact the equipment or computer support team when the connection still fails after the device and port are confirmed.

What you may see: DoseX remains disconnected or Quadrant displays a WebSocket connection error.

What it usually means: The IP address or port is incorrect, the computer cannot reach the device, or another client holds remote control.

What to do: Confirm the IP address and port, confirm network access, and release another client’s control when applicable.

When to get help: Ask the local device or network owner for help when the address, access, or remote-control state is uncertain.

What you may see: Charge collection stops while Quadrant is setting the bias, checking the bias, or verifying zero.

What it usually means: The connected device cannot reach the requested state or the chamber, bias, or device configuration does not match the planned measurement.

What to do: Stop collection. Confirm the selected device type, chamber connection, requested bias, and device state. Reconnect and retry only after the setup is understood.

When to get help: Ask the equipment owner to review the setup when the failure repeats with the expected device and configuration.

What you may see: Charge Collection remains at Awaiting beam on after the planned delivery begins.

What it usually means: The electrometer response did not cross the expected trigger or the wrong measurement channel or connection is active.

What to do: Confirm the collection status, the electrometer channel, and the planned beam delivery. Stop collection before changing any connection.

When to get help: Ask the equipment or clinical team to review the measurement setup when the correct channel and delivery still are not detected.

What you may see: A collected charge does not appear in the calibration wizard.

What it usually means: Collection did not complete, Done was not clicked, or Discard closed the dialog without adding the readings.

What to do: Confirm the charge appears in Collected Charges, stop collection, and click Done.

When to get help: Record the collection status and ask your team to investigate when a listed charge disappears after you click Done.

If a problem could affect the validity of the calibration, stop and ask your clinical or equipment team to review it before proceeding.
