Data Overview

Use the Data area to manage measured, TPS, and reference beam data for a selected linear accelerator.

If you are new to Quadrant, start here:

  1. Read Create a Data Set so you know how data is organized.
  2. Read Select a Data Set so you understand how Quadrant chooses the institution, linear accelerator, and data set used on Data pages.
  3. Read Import Data before adding files.
  4. Use View a Data Set and Scan Data Table to review what was imported.
  5. Use Export Data only after the selected data set has been reviewed.

A data set is a named collection of scan data for a linear accelerator. Each data set also has two labels that help identify how it should be used:

  • Source describes where the data came from: Measured, TPS, or Other.
  • Type describes how the data is used: Commissioning, Annual, Monthly, or Misc.

Data sets can also carry a Baseline label. See Baseline for what the badge means and how it relates to Reference Data.

Use the Data menu in the application sidebar:

Page Use It When What You Can Do
Scans You want to inspect what is already in a data set. Review scan and wedge factor tables, select scans for plots or details, check unavailable scans, export the table view, and delete selected items if you have write access.
Import You have new measurements, TPS dose data, pasted scatter values, or detector output to add. Choose the destination data set, pick the import method, review detected scan information, handle duplicate warnings, and add the data to the selected data set.
Export You need files for another system or review workflow. Choose an output format, set resampling or calibration options when needed, and download the generated export package.
Databook You want a structured beam-data summary rather than the row-by-row scan table. Review TG-51, PDD, scatter, OAR, cone factor, VSD, wedge factor, and Scp/Sc/Sp summaries; choose Databook settings; export Databook output.

Each page uses the same selection pattern. Choose an institution, then a linear accelerator, then a data set. The current selection appears in the page header.

For a walkthrough of the data set selector, see Select a Data Set.

  1. Open Data > Scans.
  2. Select the institution and linear accelerator.
  3. Create or select the data set you want to work with.
  4. Open Data > Import and add the measurements.
  5. Return to Data > Scans to review the imported data.
  6. Use Data > Export when you need files for another system.

Quadrant has more than one export path:

Export Where It Is Use It For
Table export Data > Scans, in the scan table toolbar Copying or downloading the current table view.
Data set export Data > Export Creating files for another system or review workflow.
Databook export Data > Databook, in the Databook toolbar Exporting the Databook-format summary from the Databook view.
